「で」marks where an action takes place, the means used, or the tool. ① Location of action: Toshokan de benkyō shimasu. (I study at the library.) ② Means / transport: Basu de gakkō ni ikimasu. (I go to school by bus.) ③ Tool: Hashi de gohan wo tabemasu. (I eat rice with chopsticks.) 💡 で vs に: で＝where an action happens / how it's done, に＝where something exists / where you go
図書館で勉強します。
としょかんでべんきょうします。 — I study at the library.
バスで学校に行きます。
バスでがっこうにいきます。 — I go to school by bus.
箸でご飯を食べます。
はしでごはんをたべます。 — I eat rice with chopsticks.
